Star gazing by night, exploring by day
Spend 2 days & 1 night far from reality
Imagine visiting one of the wonders of the world, diving into the tropical waters of the Great Barrier Reef and discovering the colourful world underwater and then spending the night on the floating pontoon under a canopy of stars! It's an experience unlike anything else, and you can do it with Awesome Whitsundays!
Cruise out from Airlie Beach, through the Whitsunday Islands and on to our pontoon at the outer Great Barrier Reef. There, the day is yours to dive in to the colourful world that awaits. See tropical fish of every shape and size and an impressive display of hard and soft coral. Snorkelling gear is included and diving is also available, both certified and intro, at an additional cost. Throughout the day, you'll be able to dig into delicious morning and afternoon teas and a buffet lunch!
The day cruise passengers cruise off at 3pm, back to Airlie Beach. That leaves you, a small handful of others, and nothing but sun, sea and sky! Enjoy the sunset from the upper deck - make sure you have that camera handy! As the sky darkens, life at the reef changes, but does not go to sleep!
A Night Under the Stars
You haven't really seen the stars until you've been so far from city lights. Our pontoon at the reef is blanketed with stars. It's a sight you've just got to see.
Night diving? Simply a must! A night dive* is on the cards (optional extra) for those who want to discover the most unforgettable experience.
*Night dives must be booked 3 days in advance and cost $150 per person. You must be a certified diver and complete a dive during the day in order to complete a night dive.
You'll wake bright and early, which is lucky because there is a whole reef to be explored! After a hearty breakfast, dive back in for a snorkel or a swim while the reef is all yours. Mid morning, day cruise guests will arrive. You'll spend the day in paradise: exploring the reef and eating morning and afternoon tea and a tasty lunch! Come 3pm, it's time to depart for Airlie Beach, back home with memories of thousands of fish and millions of stars.
All meals are included in this 2 day adventure. Throughout the days curb your hunger with morning and afternoon tea and a sumptuous buffet lunch. Fish D'Vine, a leading restaurant from Airlie Beach supply our catering, taking care to base the menu on seasonality and the best produce available. Free tea and coffee is available and there is also a bar onboard serving a full range of alcoholic and soft drinks. In the evening a delicious barbecue dinner is served and in the morning a hearty breakfast.
Under the Stars Swags
A swag is a cosy, low tent with a clear viewing panel above your head, a comfortable mattress and snug bedding. Our swags are available as king singles (for just one person) or doubles (for two people sharing). The experience of sleeping in a swag out on the Great Barrier Reef is just unbeatable! The swags are waterproof, but on a clear night you can even sleep with the cover open - just you, the sea air and the stars!
